This one of a kind convertible wrap can be worn with the two buttons on each side fastened as shown in the pictures, or unbuttoned and worn as a shawl or wrap. It goes on easily over jeans and a T shirt as well as over a dressy outfit, and can be worn closely for its warmth, or loosely for its color and drama. Especially good for keeping the chill off shoulders and arms, without being as confining as a sweater or jacket, our Trifle is wonderful for the office or where you might be sitting for some time at a show or concert, to keep the drafts away.
This Trifle measures 52 inches from end to end lengthwise, and 23 inches from neck to bottom edge as shown in the 4th picture. The 4 buttons I used on this Trifle came from the etsy shop of Carol Milich, who makes wonderful high fire porcelain buttons with wonderful shapes and glazes. These are each different, with the lighter ones at the far edge and the darker ones set in a few inches, to make stunning decorative bits as well as functional fasteners.
With a shawl pin or brooch, this can be worn many ways in addition to the shrug variation shown above.
**I would highly recommend hand washing for this piece: cool water, with a little shampoo and conditioner (treat wool like hair), gently work through, rinse thoroughly until all the suds are gone, then gently squeeze the first water out, rolling in a beach towel and using it to press out the rest of the water; lay flat supported to finish drying. If absolutely necessary, may go to the dry cleaners, but have them take care with the hand made buttons, and the metallic yarns may eventually be stripped of their sparkle
