Tom the Irishman is from Dublin, Ireland, and has been a wood craftsman for 40 years.  He selects the finest woods and designs and builds every piece of furniture himself.  The grain and colors of his woods are chosen for each piece.  All pieces are stained or painted to his customer's specifications, and the finish is like glass.  The Adirondacks can be painted but also stained in teak or an antique gray finish that many prefer.  The style of the Adirondack is Tom's unique design:  a rounded back for a comfort fit and not so low or deep that unseating is difficult.  All screws are doweled except those intended for aesthetic appeal; those that show are marine-quality bronze unless otherwise specified.  The cupboards are constructed following a design Tom built in Ireland, and these are customized for the particular desired effect.  Some are pine, others are alder.  All have a satin finish and high end hardware; shown here are Swedish iron and oil rubbed bronze fittings.  The children's play tables are the whimsical idea of a family member and are painted or stained, as requested, and Tom's wife does the decorations.  Tom also does carpentry such as crown molding, fireplace mantels, bookshelves and entertainment centers, cabinets, etc.
