Hi, my name is Tamara Adwell. I am an Indiana native. I have known I wanted to be an artist all my life. I went to Greenwood High School, studied art, received an honorable mention, and a scholarship to Herron Art School. I also attended John Robert Powers my senior year. In 1981, I went to Indiana State University majoring in photography with a minor in painting. I received a BFA in 1986. While in college, I worked as the yearbook photographer and did photos for the Statesman Paper. After college, I went back to John Robert Powers, did some modeling, and became a make-up artist for Glemby, which gave me the opportunity to do the Colts cheerleaders’ make-up in 1987. I went on to be a custom color printer at Matrix Photo Lab in Indianapolis for 2 years.
I started a family, and was running a small photo business out of my home, as well as a daycare center for 6 years. I went on to work as an assistant photographer with Al Green in Greenwood,IN.
