About Us and how we came to be.... Hello I would like to tell you my back ground and how Mes Chapeaux came to be. I come from a family line of very artistic people, starting from my Great grand father who owned a successful Men's tailoring shop. My paternal French grand mother who moved to New York and started her own dress boutique, in the days before the depression alone.She met and married a pastry chef and he opened and ran a fantastic bakery for years.My father was a fine painter and a contest winning wood carver. My true love of art and sewing comes from my maternal side. Before the American revolution my female descendents were hand sewing extraordinary quilts and till this day my Mother and sister still do. I grew up watching my Mother sewing the most magical creations and her talents did not end there, she could do any thing with fabrics or yarns.My Mother now in her 80's just retired from a life time of being a professional seamstress.My sisters are all artists in their own right, sculptors, painters, doll makers and quilters . As for me I have been a top USA bodybuilder since 2000 and a personal fitness trainer but recent events in my life have given me a opportunity to fufill my love of design and I hope you love My Hats ( Mes Chapeaux ) as much as I love making them for you.
