I'm a 46 yr. old retired special education teacher. I know it sounds odd to hear of a person my age that has already given up their professional life. However, the Drs. said it was time so I had to leave my career. I floundered for a while right after my retirement and there are still many days that I feel like a fish out of water. I signed up for a journaling class and found out that they had jewelry classes as well. After attending a few of those I was hooked. I love the freedom I have to shop in antique stores for vintage jewelry, especially if some of the pieces are broken or loose. I take it home, clean it and use the nice sturdy parts in elements of my jewelry. i started out in my garage one summer working with all sorts of jewelry that my family began giving me and this summer my Dad had a shed built for his tools on the lot next to mine. I started to inch my way in with a few things and months later he complains that he only has 1/6 of the shed for his things. He's right. I even have a TV, a tea maker and a wicker rocker for when I need to take a break. I hope that you take a peak at my jewelry and find out that you like its unique quality. I can never create the same item twice, I'm not wired like that. The inspiration comes for one piece and then I'm on to another. Thank You
I use a multitude of materials including glass beads, Swarovski beads, cats eye glass, hand blown beads and focals, wooden beads, ceramic and once in a while an acrylic bead here and there. I use silk cord, suede cord, clear, elastic, or settling silver f
