Continuing to Safely Reopen Minnesota’s Economy and Ensure Safe Non-Work Activities during the COVID-19 Peacetime Emergency (5/27)
Mask Mandates:
Requirement. Under EO 20-81 (effective July 25, 2020), Minnesotans are required to wear a face covering in indoor businesses and indoor public settings. Exempts persons with a medical condition and children under the age of 6.
Mass Gathering Restrictions:
Beginning Jan. 11, 2021, Indoor private events (such as weddings) that serve food are limited to 10 people from a maximum of two households. Outdoor events are limited to three households or 15 people. EO 20-103 repeals the strict mass gathering ban and allows gatherings of 10 people from no more than 2 households indoors, and 15 people from no more than 3 households outdoors. Stay Safe Minnesota Order Modified on June 5 still includes restrictions on gatherings of more than 10 unless otherwise permitted. EO 20-96 has amended to prohibit gatherings of more than 3 households. EO 20-99 has reinstitued a mass gathering ban subject to limited exemptions, effective November 20 through December 18.
