First Night Missoula is an accessible, affordable, alcohol‑free New Year's Eve celebration for the entire family. Performances and art displays at 35 venues from noon to midnight on December 31st, broaden public appreciation of local and culturally diverse visual and performing arts. First Night enhances a sense of community through shared tradition and celebration of human achievement.

Governor’s Plan to reopen:

There are no mandatory restrictions on the operation of businesses or on the organization of gatherings in Montana.

Mask Mandates:

In Montana, a face covering (covering both the mouth and nose) must be worn by persons in indoor spaces open to the public at all times. Further, a face covering must be worn during any organized outdoor activity where social distancing is not possible or observed. Finally, there are a number of exemptions to the class of persons subject to this mask mandate (those exemptions include, but not by way of limitation, children under 5, persons consuming food or beverages, persons performing activities that make the wearing of a face covering impracticable, and a number of other exemptions).

Mass Gathering Restrictions:

Montana has no mandatory restrictions in place for mass gatherings. However, Montana does recommend that "public gatherings or events [be] managed in a way that accommodates CDC social distancing guidelines."
