Founded in 1994, the Carolina Renaissance Festival is an annual reoccurring celebration hosted within a 16th century themed imaginary storybook village amusement park. During each 16-day season, visitors time travel to the “Village of Fairhaven.”
The 25-acre village features forested pathways, cottages, castles, kitchens, pubs, entertainments for all ages, and a most unusual collection of people-powered rides and games of skill. Over 140 vendors offer delightful treats and unique artisan crafted souvenirs. 16 stages host shows all day long that comprise of 16th century & fantasy themed music, comedy, juggling, magic, dance, swordplay, and acrobatics.
Premier entertainments include jousting knights on horseback battling three times daily in the Queen's Tournament Arena, falconry presentations, swimming mermaids, and several hundred costumed characters roam the village making the annual Carolina Renaissance Festival one of the most interactive and immersive shows ever created!
