La Compagnie Musical Dance Troupe is owned and managed by Genot Picor-Storyteller, LLC. I appear as a solo performer as well, along with the La Compagnie. La Compagnie has performed at several venues throughout Michigan, ranging from museums, libraries, reenactments and music festivals. La Compagnie Musical Dance Troupe is a touring member of the Michigan Arts and Humanities Council and serves as a resource for The Historical Society of Michigan. The lively ensemble's music ranges from the late 1600's to current day. Musical selections include reels, jigs, hornpipes, schottisches and branles. Other selections feature crisp vocal harmonies, Great Lakes maritime, French Canadian, Celtic, Appalachian (with step dancing) and folk. A piper is available as well. Instrumentation includes upright bass, guitar, cittern, mandolin, violin, viola, bodhran, concertina (squeezebox), concert flute, pennywhistle, recorders, the human voice and the dancer's feet.
