Mahaska County Historical Society owns and operates Nelson Pioneer Farm & Museum in Oskaloosa, Iowa. We host the Pioneer Fall Festival the 3rd Saturday of each September. This event features a fiddle contest, parade, pioneer living demonstrations, a country dinner, antique farm equipment and much more. We have 18 buildings on the Nelson Pioneer Farm campus filled with historical artifacts. We also have a genealogy library inside the museum.
