Braham was named the Homemade Pie Capital of Minnesota by Gov. Rudy Perpich in 1990. The fame for Pie began back in the 1930's &40's as people traveling north to there cabins or taking a "shortcut through Braham" on there way to Duluth, they would stop at Park Cafe for Pie and Coffee and we celebrate with a one-day festival.

Pie Day began in 1990 as a Pie and ice cream social, funded by celebrate Minnesota tourism grant. In 1992 the event date changed to the first Friday in August.  The event has grown to include crafter's, small quilt display, recycled Pie tin art show, Pie-cycle show, sweet as Pie car show. Tusen Tack fashion show, we have performances such as music, signing, dance, storytellers. There is also a Pie baking contest, Pie eating contest, as well as a Pie trivia contest. We also make and bake all our own homemade Pies -  all the Pies are made by 200 + volunteers in a commercial kitchen. We sell on an average of about 4,000 slices of Pies a year.  And we celebrate with a one-day festival that brings visitors from all over the United States and abroad. We welcome you all to join  us for Braham Pie Day!
