Biography: John Calwile Vinestreet
As a young child living in a small town in South Carolina, John Vinestreet became interested in music while his dad worked as a local radio DJ. At age 3, his family recognized his talent for singing when his mom would overhear him singing along to TV commercials. By age 7, John found himself landing solos every Sunday morning in front of his church congregation of 1350 people. Throughout his childhood, he was a recipient of many talent show winnings and voice school scholarships, and always knew how to put on a show.
His passion for performing kept growing, and he went on to graduate from college with a degree in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. Since then John has spent over 25 years in the music industry and has gained numerous amounts of knowledge in singing, performing, touring, management, artist development, and vocal coaching. He has graced the stage with many legendary artists including Rick James, The Whispers, Cameo, Kool and the Gang, Roger Troutman, Bruce Willis, Shirley Murdock, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and John Mayer to name a few.
He has taught Vocal Performance and Artist Development in Hollywood where he helped many aspiring singers jump-start their careers who later were featured on The Disney Channel, American Idol, America's Got Talent, and other TV and film projects.
After many successful years in the business, he has since decided to follow his true passion - continuing to perform the timeless covers of America's Golden Years - the '40's and '50s. Audiences of all ages are brought back in time to the sounds of Big Band as John sings the most popular tunes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr, Bobby Darin and more.
