VINTAGE SOUL FEATURING KEI TURNER:
"A Live Band with Passion, Heart and Artistry"
Harking back to the days of true passion as a musician while paying homage to the contemporary hits; Vintage Soul featuring Kei Turner covers the contemporary R&B and Neo-Soul hits of today but ushers a return to when live music was soulful and heartfelt.
Lead singer, Kei Turner, created Vintage Soul with that mission in mind. Kei began singing with the Indiana Mass Choir under the direction of gospel great Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. With a musician mother in the S.O.S Band, Kei's childhood was spent on the road among the likes of "The Dazz Band" and "Zapp and Roger". Her professional accomplishments span from studio work and background singing with Sean Combs (P.Diddy) in 1998 to being casted in the Broadway hit "The Lion King" in 2001. She also took a lead role in off-Broadway sensation "Ain't Yo Mamma Crying on the Pancake Boxcar".
Following her on this road are the accomplished and inspiring musicians who make Vintage Soul and who meld effortlessly for a quality of live music unlike the generic.
Band bassist, Vincent Beavers brings 15 years of experience and has played for the likes of Zapp featuring Roger Trotman and also the Ohio Players and he also provides background vocals with Chelsea Dennis ; and while limited in professional accolades, Chelsea provides a refreshing and complimenting alto vocal quality to the ensemble.
Percussionist Miguel Gaetán has experience in the bands of praised soul artists including Angie Stone and Anthony David. He also has worked as a music engineer and producer in many of Atlanta's premier studios. Drummer, Andre Shuler has extensive experience in the industry, from sound engineering and producing to providing live music for U.S and NATO troops across the globe and has worked producing music with names from MC Hammer to the Zac Brown Band.
Lastly, Robert Carr, pianist, has had similar global experience; in 1984 his band was selected to tour for USO Germany. Upon returning stateside, Robert worked alongside of Lou Rawls, Barry White, Ashford & Simpson and Al Jarreau.
Vintage Soul featuring Kei Turner does more than just play music. The members come together in their sacrifices for the pursuit of musical excellence. Now, they are ready to show the world that live music is not a dying art; it just needed the right catalyst in the world of today.
