Genuine thick, quality leather luggage handmade and customized to fit on the sissy bar of an Indian motorcycle (may fit other makes and models.) Leather is laced around a copper frame for durability; preped with Neat's Foot Oil to prevent cracking; burnished to minimize stretching, several coats of dye to obtain deep, rich color; four coats of water repellent, sun screen to protect the hide and retain rich color due to sun exposure. The top flap over the arch and the arched sides not have a copper frame due to their function. They do have reinforcements to maintain their shape as well as an adjustable strap with release clip attached at the inside top of both arched sides to eliminate bowing outward.
The two-piece luggage set can be attached to the sissy bar together as one unit or either piece attached individually. The pieces are held together with four leather straps each running through double O-rings for easy tension adjustment and removal. The thick, wide shoulder strap makes carrying the luggage very comfortable. The strap is easily and quickly attached by sturdy button studs on each side and can be removed and stowed inside the luggage when riding. Referencing the photo, the luggage is quite roomy as there is plenty of extra space available after I added my full-face helmet and an extra large, lined, thick leather jacket.
The luggage is secured to the sissy bar with four leather straps that go down and through the sissy bar's base and back up through the four sets of double O-rings attached to the luggage. Two thick, wide belts which are attached to the luggage with button studs go around the sissy bar and buckle.
Both bags have dual buckles and Master locks for security. The two keys are in individual custom made cases which have a pyrographed feather on each. Additionally, a 4 3/4" leather logo feather is attached.
Adornments include hand cut fringe, contrasting leather trim highlighted with silver tone domes, slotted conchos on the sides, staple cover in leather and domes and the Oregon Trail Half Dollar concho depicting a Native American in a full length headdress.
The stunning Chief's headdress atop the arched portion is carved into the leather and tooled to present its three dimensions. Pyrography deepens the dimensions as several shades of dye distinguish the various shapes and colors within the feathers and decorative headband. You'll be the talk of the town and the road in many states as the headdress will be facing the vehicle behind you.
The top section outside measurements are: H - 17 3/4", W - 14 1/2", D - 12 1/2". The bottom section is designed to fit the curvature of the sissy bar resulting in the bottom's base being somewhat larger. The bottom section's base measurements are: H - 14 1/4", W - 14 1/2" with the top D - 14 1/4" and the base D - 16 1/4". The entire unit weights 23 lbs.
