Native American dance stick or a beautiful decorative piece for your home.
This piece was is a natural piece of drift wood that was found on a river bed. I could not resist the resemblance of a cranes head with the natural knot hole in the top of the stick for an eye.
Once I started sanding the handle to lay the leather I saw the most gorgeous piece of red oak under all the drift layers on the stick.
There was just a little sanding on the head to shape as it is now but no cutting done at all.
Real leather was used for the handle along with real rabbit fur that is on the top and bottom of the leather handle. The decorative pieces have 4 gold bells for a nice sound when dancing and also on the leather strips very colorful turkey feathers.
