One of a kind Mixed Media Agate Handmade Original Design.
This is a one of a kind mix media original piece inspired by my collection of semi precious stones. I tried to reproduce the attractive beauty of an agate slice.
Natural agate has a smooth texture that glows wonderfully when displayed in front of a light source.
Using a variety of fibers and shiny variegated rayon and polyester threads, I embellished a batik piece of fabric with hand painted and heated Tyvek, glitters and copper foil. Free motion quilting was then added to underline each shape created. The back is a hand painted fabric by artist Mickey Lawler.
The size is 11 1/4 inches square. It has been mounted on a thick fiber interfacing for rigidity and could be displayed on its own on a small easel or hanging on a wall with a nail (last picture is showing the back side ).
It is signed and dated on the back and will be shipped to you in a protective cellophane sleeve.
