Why Email Blasts Alone Won't Get You Booked

When seeking bookings in the festival market, an email to the event coordinator or the Entertainment Director is a good place to start, but that alone will not necessarily get you booked. You should follow up with phone calls and research each event to determine their booking process. Many have certain guidelines, applications, and deadlines. Find out their rules as every festival will be different. Booking festival gigs is all about building relationships. A personal touch is a better way to get your foot in the door and be considered for shows - it will certainly make a longer lasting impression than a simple email blast!
